President Donald Trump’s call with Russian President Vladimir Putin began Monday, the White House confirmed, as part of a renewed U.S. diplomatic push to end the war in Ukraine. The president is expected to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO leaders later today.

Earlier, Trump posted on Truth Social:

According to Politico, European officials fear Trump may either push Kyiv into an unfavorable deal or withdraw U.S. military support entirely if no progress is made.

Vice President J.D. Vance echoed that sentiment, warning that America’s patience isn’t unlimited. “It takes two to tango. I know [Trump’s] willing to do that,” Vance said. “But if Russia is not, then we’re eventually just going to say, this is not our war.”
