President Donald Trump confirmed Sunday that prominent business leaders Lachlan Murdoch, Larry Ellison, and Michael Dell are set to be U.S. investors in a proposed deal to keep TikTok operating in America.
The agreement would shift control of TikTok’s U.S. assets from China’s ByteDance to American hands.

Trump praised the group as “American patriots” during an interview on Fox News, saying they would ensure TikTok remains a positive force after it helped him gain support from young voters in the 2024 election.
Murdoch, now in full control of Fox Corp, could be joined by his father, Rupert Murdoch, in the investment group.

Ellison, Oracle’s co-founder and longtime Republican donor, and Dell, CEO of Dell Technologies, are also expected to take part. The Trump administration has tied TikTok negotiations to broader U.S.-China economic talks, citing national security concerns about data access.
