President Donald Trump suggested Friday that White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia should reconsider her position following a difficult first week in the role.
Zacharia, appointed last week to replace Karoline Leavitt, faced scrutiny after a 14-minute debut briefing on Tuesday, including questions about her legal credentials and failure to pass the California bar exam.
Trump said the media had treated her unfairly and noted that Fox News host Sean Hannity had been tough on her in recent interviews, adding to the pressure surrounding her appointment.
The president plans to speak with Zacharia again after returning from his trip to Georgia. Her future as the administration’s chief spokesperson remains uncertain amid continued media attention.
