President Donald Trump has warned Iran of possible strikes on its energy infrastructure even as he claimed progress in ongoing negotiations with Tehran. In a Truth Social post, Trump said talks with what he described as a “more reasonable” Iranian leadership were advancing, according to The Hill.
However, he cautioned that failure to reach a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz could trigger U.S. action. Trump said key targets could include Iran’s power plants, oil facilities, and Kharg Island, which handles most of the country’s crude exports, the report said.

The warning comes after Trump recently extended a pause on strikes targeting Iran’s energy sector. Reports of increased U.S. troop presence have also raised concerns about possible escalation.
Trump indicated that securing control over Iran’s oil remains a priority, as reported by The Financial Times. Meanwhile, public opinion appears divided, with a Fox News poll showing majority opposition to the ongoing conflict.
