Trump To Decide On Iran-Israel Conflict Within Two Weeks, Says White House

U.S President Donald Trump holding a press conference at the Oval Office

President Donald Trump will decide within two weeks whether the U.S. will intervene in the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, the White House announced Thursday.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters the decision hinges on the outcome of potential negotiations.

“Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, [Trump] will make his decision... within the next two weeks,” she said.

Leavitt warned that Iran possesses all the components necessary to develop a nuclear weapon, pending only a green light from its Supreme Leader. “That would pose an existential threat not just to Israel, but to the United States and to the entire world.”

She confirmed ongoing direct and indirect correspondence with Iran and stated that any deal must include “no uranium enrichment” and an absolute bar on nuclear weapons development.
