Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday to discuss new arms deals and peace efforts in the Russia-Ukraine war.
The meeting follows Trump’s recent call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and comes as Zelensky seeks U.S. approval to purchase Tomahawk missiles to strike key Russian targets.

Trump has left unclear whether he will authorize the sale, calling the missiles “vicious” and emphasizing diplomacy after his success brokering a cease-fire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas. The Kremlin has warned that supplying Tomahawks would mark a “serious escalation.”
Zelensky, meanwhile, continues to push for stronger U.S. military backing and additional air defenses. Ukrainian officials have also met with Raytheon executives and top U.S. lawmakers ahead of the visit.
