President Donald Trump intensified pressure on Russia to end the war in Ukraine, calling the conflict a needless tragedy that should never have started. In a post on Truth Social, Trump revealed that nearly 20,000 Russian soldiers died in July alone, bringing Moscow's 2025 toll to over 112,000.
Ukraine has reportedly lost 8,000 troops this year, not counting those missing or civilian casualties from Russian strikes.
"This is Biden's war, not TRUMP's," the president wrote, vowing to end the conflict.

Earlier, Trump said he is reducing the 50-day deadline he previously gave Vladimir Putin to make peace, citing disappointment with the Russian leader.
The original deadline was linked to a NATO-backed deal that would escalate arms shipments to Kyiv if Russia refused to stop fighting. Trump warned of sweeping sanctions if peace is not reached.
"I’m just here to see if I can stop it," Trump said, emphasizing his intent to avoid further bloodshed.
