Two Delta Air Lines regional jets collided on a taxiway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday night in a rare ground incident. The wing of one CRJ-900 regional jet, preparing to depart for Roanoke, Virginia, struck the cockpit windows of another jet arriving from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Airport officials said one person was hospitalized with a minor injury. Both aircraft, operated by Endeavor Air on behalf of Delta, carried a combined 85 passengers.

Although a total of 93 people were involved in the incident, only one person, a cabin crew member, was injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that air traffic control had instructed the departing jet to yield before crossing the intersection, but the cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that airport operations were not affected. Delta issued an apology and said it would cooperate fully with investigators. Passengers were transported to the terminal and provided meals and hotel accommodations.
