The United States and Iran are planning to hold talks in Oman on Friday, following a series of military confrontations in the region. The talks come after the U.S. military shot down an Iranian drone that approached the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea.
Hours later, Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats and a drone threatened to seize the U.S.-flagged tanker Stena Imperative in the Strait of Hormuz. A U.S. destroyer escorted the vessel, and the situation de-escalated.
