U.S. President Trump is considering a request from Ukraine for long-range Tomahawk missiles which could bring major Russian cities within reach and weaken Russia’s military industry.

Washington has become increasingly frustrated by Moscow’s intransigence over bilateral and trilateral talks with Kyiv. It is now looking at providing Kyiv with Tomahawk missiles, according to Vice President JD Vance.

US special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, suggested Trump had already authorized strikes deep into Russian territory, saying “there are no such things as sanctuaries”, further marking the change in the administration's tone with regard to the war. Trump himself had earlier suggested that Ukraine could regain all of its territory.

Russian officials have warned that supplying U.S. Tomahawk missile to Ukraine could trigger a steep escalation in the war.
