A new round of trilateral talks involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States began Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, but Ukrainian officials remain doubtful of a major breakthrough.
The talks follow a brief energy truce that paused strikes on power infrastructure, according to CBS News.
That pause collapsed when Russia launched more than 450 drones and over 60 missiles across Ukraine, leaving more than 1,100 apartment buildings in Kyiv without heat, Ukrainian officials said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attacks showed Moscow was not serious about diplomacy.
Russia said its strikes targeted military-linked sites. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said civilian infrastructure was hit.
Key disputes remain unresolved, including Russian demands for territorial concessions and Ukraine’s push for firm Western security guarantees. Ukrainian officials said sensitive issues will likely be left for leaders to address later.
President Donald Trump has pressed both sides to pursue negotiations, but expectations for immediate progress remain low.
