President Donald Trump is weighing a potential replacement for Attorney General Pam Bondi, amid frustration over the Justice Department’s pace on key priorities, reported by CBS News. Sources said Trump believes the department has not pursued enough successful prosecutions against political opponents.
According to the report, Environmental Protection Agency chief Lee Zeldin has emerged as a leading contender. Trump reportedly met Zeldin earlier this week, though no final decision has been made.

Trump continues to publicly praise Bondi and may offer her another role within the administration. However, several investigations launched under her tenure have failed to result in charges or have been dismissed in court.
Sources told CBS News that internal concerns also exist within the Justice Department, with some allies pointing to cautious leadership as a factor behind limited legal outcomes.
A leadership change could further reshape a department already undergoing significant restructuring and personnel departures under Trump’s administration.
