Denmark has taken the unprecedented step of labeling the United States a security concern in its annual intelligence assessment, citing Washington’s growing use of economic and technological power to influence allies.
The Danish Defence Intelligence Service said uncertainty about America’s long-standing role as Europe’s security guarantor could embolden Russia to escalate hybrid attacks against NATO members, which already report repeated airspace violations.

The report also highlighted intensifying competition among the U.S., China, and Russia in the Arctic and Greenland. President Donald Trump has expressed strong interest in Greenland, a strategic Danish territory.
Danish media previously reported that officials created a night watch system to track possible statements from Trump about acquiring the region.
Analysts told Newsweek the Danish government remains concerned about Trump’s continued focus on Greenland.
They warn that Beijing’s expanding influence and Moscow’s aggression have created a more dangerous security environment for the Kingdom of Denmark.
