The Trump administration has revoked more than 175,000 visas, according to the State Department, marking a significant expansion of visa cancellations since President Donald Trump returned to the White House.
Officials said many of the revocations followed encounters with law enforcement involving foreign nationals.
According to the report, leading reasons included assault, driving under the influence, theft and drug-related offenses.
The latest figure is substantially higher than the more than 100,000 visa revocations reported in January.
The administration has also expanded social media screening as part of its broader immigration enforcement strategy.
Rights advocates have criticized the screening policies, arguing that they could infringe on free speech and privacy.
The administration, however, has presented tighter visa enforcement as part of its effort to strengthen immigration controls and protect national security.
