USS Abraham Lincoln Set To Make First Port Call In Months In Thailand

The USS Abraham Lincoln is expected to dock in Thailand next week for rest and recreation after an exceptionally long deployment supporting U.S. military operations in the Middle East, a Thai official said Tuesday.

The aircraft carrier has spent more than 200 consecutive days at sea without a port visit, which Democratic lawmakers have described as a modern record for a U.S. carrier.

The prolonged deployment has also prompted concerns about crew morale and mental health among the roughly 5,000 sailors and Marines aboard.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has disputed reports about poor conditions on the ship, saying they misrepresented the situation.

The Thailand visit would provide the crew with a long-awaited opportunity for rest after months of continuous operations. Sen. Jack Reed, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, expects the carrier to return home within weeks.

Officials have not provided exact dates for the port call or the carrier's return, citing operational security concerns.
