A district court has issued an injunction “effective immediately” blocking the Trump administration’s efforts to roll back diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the Department of Education. The ruling, which reportedly came with a symbolic $50 bond, temporarily halts one of President Trump’s early policy reversals of Biden-era programs.

Vice President J.D. Vance reacted strongly on X, calling the decision part of a troubling trend. “A lawless district court judge substitutes his or her policy preferences for the will of the People,” Vance wrote, accusing the judiciary of undermining Trump’s mandate. “This is not consistent with the Constitution,” he added.
