Vice President JD Vance announced the creation of a new Civilian Military Cooperation Center in Israel, where American and Israeli officials will coordinate efforts to rebuild Gaza and stabilize the region.

Speaking alongside White House envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Vance said the center aims to implement a “durable peace” while ensuring local, non-American security forces maintain order in Gaza.
During his visit, Vance met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, freed hostages, and families of those still held by Hamas. He reaffirmed Washington’s support for Israel’s right to defend itself, calling Hamas a “terrorist organization.”
The vice president cautioned that rebuilding Gaza would take time but said he remained “very optimistic” about long-term peace.
Vance criticized Western media for what he described as a “desire to root for failure,” while Kushner highlighted improved coordination between Israel and the United Nations on humanitarian aid.

Witkoff added that lessons from the Gaza peace plan could guide future conflict resolutions. Vance reiterated President Donald Trump’s warning that if Hamas breaks the ceasefire, it would be “obliterated.”
