Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul convened an urgent security meeting in Bangkok on Sunday following a wave of coordinated insurgent attacks across three southernmost provinces—Narathiwat, Pattani, and Yala.

The meeting came after at least 51 distinct security incidents were recorded overnight. The violence targeted public infrastructure and commercial sites rather than direct military engagement, resulting in three civilian injuries.

The coordinated assault involved arson, small explosive devices, and deliberate property destruction. Among the notable targets was a 7-Eleven store in Pattani that was set ablaze after customers were forced to flee by armed men.
