The grieving parents of a 1-year-old boy shot and killed by police led a protest inside the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, demanding a face-to-face meeting with Attorney General Lynn Fitch.
Demonstrators and community activists rallied in Jackson following Fitch’s ruling that the officer’s use of deadly force in the June shooting of toddler Kohen Wiley was legally justified.
Demanding transparency and criminal charges against the officer involved, the family called on Fitch to directly justify her decision. Activists vowed to continue demonstrations until state officials deliver accountability and justice for the child’s death.
