A single-engine propeller plane carrying two adults and a child nosedived into traffic on a busy San Jose expressway Saturday afternoon, miraculously leaving all three occupants with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Cessna 177 crash-landed shortly after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Capitol Expressway and Excalibur Drive after the pilot reported engine trouble while approaching nearby Reid-Hillview Airport.
Miraculously, no vehicles on the ground were struck. First responders transported all three passengers to a local hospital for precautionary treatment while emergency crews contained a minor fuel spill, as federal authorities launch an investigation into the cause.
