Anti-government demonstrations in the Albanian capital turned violent on Tuesday as student protesters clashed with riot police amid mounting political unrest.
The violence erupted when groups of demonstrators began smashing shopfronts, vandalizing property, and rioting through the streets. Security forces responded by deploying tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the growing crowds.
Students joined forces with the civil movement known as the "Flamingo Revolution," an anti-corruption wave demanding the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Protesters accuse Rama’s administration of systemic corruption, state capture, and police brutality, signaling a severe escalation in the nation's political crisis.
