Declaring that the United States is "dealing from total strength," President Donald Trump downplayed ongoing military operations against Iran, framing recent targeted strikes as strategic leverage rather than an all-out war.
Trump emphasized that Washington retains maximum bargaining power to negotiate a diplomatic resolution while cautioning that additional strikes remain on the table.

“What is a war? A war is fighting. Take a look at World War I, World War II—these were... when was the last time you saw us fighting with them? We go months and months, we talk. They’re not in a good negotiating position; their economy is cratering because of us. They have 301% inflation. They don’t have money, they’re not paying their soldiers, they’re not paying their police.
We’re not fighting a war. Everyone says, ‘You’re at war.’ Well, when was the last time we fired anything? This isn’t a war; it’s a very soft war. We did have a big hit on them, and we hit them very hard—that took out their navy, 159 ships are gone. But this isn’t like a war that’s going on. This isn’t a war raging. It could happen if they don’t make a deal, but they want to make a deal very badly, and there’s a very good chance we make a deal.
But here’s the thing: we’re dealing from total strength. We can end it at any time. If I can make a deal, I would rather do it to save a lot of lives. But think about a war—this isn’t war. I hear some of these guys... I heard a very stupid congressman on FOX, I think it was Fox & Friends, talking about, ‘He spent $30 billion on this war with Iran.’ Well, that’s peanuts, because we’ve made that many times over just with Venezuela—the purchase of... we didn’t purchase, we didn’t pay anything, but if you look at Greenland, it’s worth $5 trillion—$5 trillion with a ‘T.’ This is peanuts compared to the kind of money that we’ve made.
Also, we’ve created $25 trillion worth of wealth since I entered office on January 20th. We’ve created $25 trillion—think of it. Nobody’s ever heard of these numbers. No other country has done what we’ve done in the last three years. $25 trillion worth of wealth—you could call it worth or wealth. Nobody’s ever done anything like that; no other country has ever done anything.
So this is not much of a war, Sean, because there hasn’t been shooting for months.”
