The United States and Iran have maintained a temporary halt in hostilities as diplomats seek to create room for negotiations, according to the report. The pause followed two weeks of U.S. military strikes and renewed diplomatic efforts led in part by China to restart talks with Tehran.
According to the report, negotiators now face difficult discussions over Iran's nuclear program, sanctions relief and Tehran's support for proxy groups across the Middle East. Another major issue is restoring safe commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which remains disrupted under the current U.S. blockade.
The report added that financial markets welcomed the pause, with oil prices falling sharply, although analysts warned the truce remains fragile as fighting continues in other parts of the region.
