A powerful blizzard severely disrupted air travel across the East Coast on Monday, forcing widespread flight cancellations at major airports serving New York, Boston, and Philadelphia, with delays expected to continue through Tuesday.
The National Weather Service said heavy snow and high winds stretched from Maryland to Maine, creating dangerous travel conditions and low visibility.

Some areas saw nearly two feet of snowfall. Airlines canceled more than 3,800 flights on Monday, about 15 percent of all scheduled U.S. departures, according to Cirium.
New York’s LaGuardia Airport canceled roughly 90 percent of its flights. Similar disruptions hit Boston Logan International Airport, Philadelphia International Airport, and Newark.
Carriers including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines waived change fees to help passengers rebook. Airlines said early cancellations were aimed at speeding recovery once conditions improve.
