President Donald Trump has said he does not believe China or Russia are supplying weapons to Iran, dismissing concerns that either country is directly supporting Tehran in its ongoing conflict with the United States.

According to the report, Trump said he had received assurances from Chinese President Xi Jinping that Beijing would not provide arms to Iran.

The report said the comments come despite intelligence reports suggesting Russia may have shared targeting information or drone-related technology with Iranian forces following strikes that killed senior Iranian officials earlier this year. U.S. authorities are continuing to examine those claims.

American military operations against Iran have now continued for 12 consecutive days, with the report stating that 18 U.S. service members have been killed since the conflict began.
