Authorities are investigating a suspicious package that caused seven people to fall ill after it was opened at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Thursday. The package, which contained an unknown white powder, was opened inside a building housing the Air National Guard Readiness Center, prompting an evacuation and HAZMAT response.

Base officials said there was no immediate threat, and those affected were treated at Malcolm Grow Medical Center before being released.
Initial field tests found no hazardous substances, but investigators are still analyzing the powder and reviewing political propaganda materials found with the package. The Office of Special Investigations has taken over the probe.
