White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt informed the press today of the Trump Administration's plans to construct a new White House State Ballroom, addressing a longstanding need for a larger official event space on the historic grounds.
The 90,000-square-foot classical-style addition will seat up to 650 guests, more than triple the capacity of the current East Room. The ballroom will replace the aging East Wing and preserve the White House’s architectural heritage.
