President Donald Trump has yet to choose a successor for White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, whose planned departure at the end of August has triggered speculation inside Republican circles.

According to CNN, roughly 11 potential candidates have emerged, though the White House has stressed that no formal shortlist exists.

Names being discussed include CNN contributor Scott Jennings, former Trump adviser Alina Habba, deputy press secretary Anna Kelly, DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin and former RNC spokesperson Elizabeth Pipko.

Other possibilities include Monica Crowley, Roma Daravi, Lara Trump, Jason Miller, Harrison Fields and Sage Steele. Prediction markets have also identified several contenders, although those markets do not determine Trump’s decision.

The report said Trump could delay naming a replacement until after the midterm elections. In the meantime, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio could help handle White House messaging.

Trump is expected to prioritize loyalty, media experience and the ability to defend his agenda under pressure.
