After a three and a half year construction, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge over the Beipan River in the mountainous Guizhou province of China is set to open in June, rising 625 metres above river level.

Surpassing France's Millau Viaduct, which currently holds the record at 343m, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is also the longest high-level bridge in the world. The steel truss suspension bridge is made up of 22,000 tons of steel, equivalent to three Eiffel Towers.

Ninety of the world’s hundred tallest bridges are located in and around Guizhou province.
