Fox News host Harris Faulkner said Thursday evening that pro-Hamas protesters have turned into “a caldron” for the Democrat Party, adding that if they don’t make a change soon, they’ll be “choosing” the chaos.
A group of anti-Israel protesters took over Trump Tower in New York City on Thursday morning, demanding that President Donald Trump release a Syrian-born former Columbia University student who was arrested after participating in the encampments at the university. On “Hannity,” Fox host Sean Hannity asked Faulkner why students who were part of the protests didn’t understand that “murder, rape, kidnapping, torture and beheading” are part of the Hamas terrorist group.
“I don’t think they’re trying to understand that. I mentioned that one group on campus. Ari Fleischer, former press secretary for the White House under George W. Bush, was saying today, because he was on Outnumbered with us, he was saying that there are a certain small faction of Jews who are aligning themselves because they’re ultra-liberal with some of these pro-Hamas,” Faulkner said.
Mahmoud Khalil was arrested by U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials Saturday after his green card was reportedly revoked due to alleged “activities aligned with Hamas, a designated terrorist organization,” according to the Associated Press.
Following news of Khalil’s arrest, protests broke out in support of him, with the organization “Jewish Voice for Peace,” which led the protest Thursday, saying, “the detention of Mahmoud is further proof that we are on the brink of a full takeover by a repressive, authoritarian regime.”
“I mean, this is just a cauldron for the liberal party,” Faulkner said.
“These are the people that they capitulate to. So, I don’t know what they do or don’t understand, Sean, but I can tell you this. When you have senators like Chuck Schumer, when you have people in power and they don’t vociferously and quickly speak out against this sort of thing, this cooked for over an hour. Chuck Schumer is from New York.”
“Where were these leaders? By the way, where was the mayor of the city? Where was the governor? I mean, when you have Democrats, I don’t know if they’re on the fence, if they fully support this. Whatever it is, if you don’t make a change, you’re choosing the chaos that you have right now. It’s dangerous,” Faulkner said.
In April 2024, protesters at Columbia University violently took over a school building and damaged property. Khalil was seen telling reporters at the time that he was the “lead negotiator” for Columbia University’s Apartheid Divest and then negotiating with the school to “meet” their “demands” in divesting from companies linked to Israel.
