Zelensky Holds Fresh Ukraine Peace Talks With US Envoys In Berlin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a second round of talks with senior U.S. envoys in Berlin on Dec. 15 as Washington pushes for a peace deal to end the war with Russia by year’s end.

Zelensky rejected proposals for Ukrainian troop withdrawals in eastern regions and said territorial issues must be decided by Ukrainians, potentially through a referendum. He also insisted on firm security guarantees similar to NATO protections.

The talks come amid broader diplomatic efforts involving Germany, Britain, the EU, and NATO.
