Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may travel to the United States this week to discuss the Trump administration’s 28-point peace proposal. The visit would depend on the outcome of recent talks in Geneva, where Secretary of State Marco Rubio and top Zelensky adviser Andriy Yermak led “productive” consultations on an updated framework.
The U.S.-drafted plan has drawn criticism for requiring major concessions to Russia, including territorial losses and limits on Ukraine’s military.

Zelensky said Ukraine is coordinating closely with Washington and Europe and wants sensitive issues included in the final plan, such as a full captive exchange and the return of abducted Ukrainian children.
European partners, including the U.K., Germany, and France, have pitched counterproposals to soften some of Washington’s demands.
Trump initially pushed for a Thanksgiving deadline but later signaled flexibility as negotiations continue.
