Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a new US-led draft peace plan to end Russia’s invasion could include demilitarized zones, marking a shift aimed at narrowing differences with Moscow.
The 20-point proposal was finalized by US and Ukrainian negotiators and is now under review by Russia, according to CBS News and AFP.
Zelenskyy said the plan removes demands that Ukraine immediately withdraw from eastern Donetsk or recognize occupied land as Russian. It also drops requirements for Kyiv to renounce its NATO ambitions.

However, the plan could allow limited troop pullbacks and the creation of demilitarized or special economic zones in contested regions, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.
Any such move would require approval by Ukrainian voters through a referendum.
