Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, has rejected a report by China’s Hurun Research Institute ranking him as the country’s 13th richest person with an estimated fortune of $26.7 billion.
In a post on X, Zhao called the report “nonsense,” saying the figure should be “divided by 100.”

The crypto mogul recently returned to the public eye after receiving a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, who cleared Zhao’s 2023 conviction for violating U.S. anti-money-laundering laws.
Zhao expressed “deep gratitude” for Trump’s decision and vowed to help “make America the capital of crypto.”

His pardon has sparked outrage among Democrats, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff, who accused Trump of favoring wealthy allies. Zhao is reportedly weighing a libel suit against Warren over her criticism.
Analysts say Trump’s move could open the door for Zhao’s return to Binance and potentially an American IPO.
