Dario Amodei is set to meet White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles as the Trump administration attempts to resolve a dispute between Anthropic and the Pentagon, according to Axios.

The report said tensions escalated after Anthropic sued the Defense Department for restricting its AI systems following disagreements over military use. The company had refused to allow unrestricted deployment of its advanced model, Mythos.

Officials within U.S. intelligence and cybersecurity agencies are already testing the system, which is seen as both highly capable and potentially risky. According to sources, some in the administration believe limiting access could benefit geopolitical rivals like China.

Negotiations had stalled after legal action, but recent outreach and political engagement have revived talks. Friday’s meeting is expected to lay the groundwork for a possible resolution.

The outcome could shape how the U.S. government integrates advanced AI into national security operations.
