Barron Trump May Help Steer TikTok’s American Future

Barron Trump, the 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump, is being considered for a leadership role at TikTok once the app’s U.S. operations are fully transferred to American investors.

Jake Advent, the president’s former social media manager, suggested Barron join the new board, citing his success in helping his father connect with younger voters.

President Trump signed an executive order last month approving the platform’s U.S. ownership transfer after discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Trump recently returned to TikTok, telling users he “saved” the app and calling it vital for youth engagement.

Former President Joe Biden had earlier passed a law forcing ByteDance, TikTok’s Chinese parent company, to reduce its stake or face a nationwide ban.

The Trump administration has since delayed enforcement, arguing that keeping TikTok in the U.S. under American control supports free expression and limits Big Tech’s censorship power.
