Biden Resurfaces To Attack Trump Despite No Cuts To Social Security Benefits

In his first major public address since leaving office, former President Joe Biden spoke out in defense of the Social Security Administration, criticizing deep staffing cuts and office closures under President Donald Trump’s administration. Speaking in Chicago to disability rights advocates, Biden called Social Security a “sacred promise,” accusing the administration of taking a “hatchet” to the agency. Trump, in a post on Truth Social, fired back at Biden, saying this:

Biden also criticized reported IT failures and a federal judge’s ruling that Musk’s aides may have had improper access to sensitive data. Despite Trump’s assurances that benefits remain untouched, Biden’s speech marked a pointed return to the political stage, drawing mixed reactions from Democrats wary of shifting attention from growing backlash against Trump’s policies.
