President Joe Biden hosted a reception at the White House on Monday to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr. During the event, he struggled to pronounce the name 'Kareem Abdul-Jabbar,' a well-known retired professional basketball player.
BIDEN: “Muslim culture is woven throughout the American culture, in music, film, literature, fashion, and the arts. And to cheer for Muslim — we cheer for Muslim athletes like Kareem Al Jab- — Al Jab — Abdul-Jabbar. I know him and I did mispronounce his name. (laughter) But he calls me Joe Bidden once in a while. (laughter)”
