Committee leaders disputed that claim. According to the report, lawmakers from both parties insist the subpoena remains valid and have warned of possible contempt proceedings if Bondi refuses to appear.
The report said Bondi oversaw the Justice Department’s review of Epstein-related files, including the release of millions of documents under a transparency law. However, concerns persist over withheld material, redactions, and handling of sensitive information.
Lawmakers argue her testimony is critical to understanding decisions made during her tenure. The committee said it will now engage with Bondi’s legal team to determine next steps in the ongoing investigation.
