The United Kingdom announced a major new military aid package for Ukraine, pledging more than $800 million to strengthen the country’s air defenses as Russia intensifies winter attacks, according to official statements.
UK Defense Secretary John Healey said the funding will be used to purchase thousands of air defense systems, missiles, and automated gun turrets designed to intercept drones.
The commitment was announced during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which Britain is co-chairing with Germany.

Deliveries have already begun and will continue through 2026. Britain will also start producing Octopus interceptor drones for Ukraine under a new licensing agreement.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, London has provided roughly $17.4 billion in military aid. European allies are increasing support as the Trump administration pushes for a negotiated settlement, aiming to strengthen Ukraine’s position at the table.
