Britain says there are strong indications that Iran was involved in an alleged plot targeting RAF Fairford, a UK air base used by US forces, according to CNN.
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Wednesday that investigators believe Iran played a role in the weekend incident. He stressed that the case remains an ongoing and complex police investigation and declined to provide further details.
Burnham said British authorities are working closely with US officials. His comments align with assessments from Washington. Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously said the suspected plot clearly involved a foreign actor, while President Donald Trump said the suspects might have links to Iran.
Iran has strongly rejected any connection to the incident.
British authorities have not publicly disclosed evidence establishing Iran’s alleged involvement, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to the report.
