Under the Biden Administration, some colleges had redirected taxpayer-funded TRIO program services, meant for low-income and first-generation students, to illegal immigrants. Acting Under Secretary James Bergeron emphasized that U.S. taxpayer dollars would no longer subsidize illegal immigrants through federal education programs. The decision affects several universities in the two states, with formal notices sent to the institutions through their respective state education bodies.
American taxpayer dollars will no longer be used to subsidize illegal immigrants through Department of Education programs. The Department will not allow the true purpose of the program to be corrupted to advance an America-last agenda.
