Google Maps has begun displaying “Lake America” for Lake Ontario following President Donald Trump’s executive order, creating a split among major mapping services.

According to Axios, Google now uses the new name on its mobile and desktop maps. The company said the change reflects updates to the U.S. Geographic Names Information System.

Google also said users in Canada would continue seeing “Lake Ontario,” while users elsewhere would see the traditional name with “Lake America” in parentheses. However, some Ontario government websites using embedded Google Maps displayed the new name.

Apple Maps continues to identify the body of water as Lake Ontario, while MapQuest has said it will not adopt the change.

The move has drawn sharp criticism in Canada. Ontario Premier Doug Ford compared the controversy to a “Saturday Night Live” skit and said the lake has been known as Lake Ontario for centuries.

The report said the dispute follows Trump’s earlier push to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.
