Global Affairs Canada has urged Canadians to defer all travel to Saudi Arabia, citing heightened security risks amid ongoing regional conflict.
The advisory followed reported attacks targeting airports in Riyadh and Dammam. On October 10, a Houthi missile strike reportedly hit Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, prompting concerns about further disruptions. The report states that Riyadh’s airport remained closed to commercial traffic following the strike.
Authorities also cautioned that further attacks could disrupt flight operations with little notice. Canadians already in the region are advised to monitor their flight status closely and follow official security guidance as the situation develops.
