CIA Director John Ratcliffe Visits Moscow For Undisclosed Meetings

CIA Director John Ratcliffe has arrived in Moscow for meetings, according to multiple media reports citing unnamed sources. Neither the U.S. nor Russian governments has publicly disclosed the purpose or agenda of the visit.

A U.S. Air Force C-17A transport aircraft was reportedly spotted at a Moscow airport alongside a U.S. diplomatic motorcade, indicating a high-level American delegation.

The reported visit comes as U.S.-mediated efforts to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine remain largely stalled. It also recalls a 2021 Moscow meeting between then-CIA Director William Burns and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The lack of official confirmation leaves the objectives of Ratcliffe's meetings unclear, amid continuing efforts to maintain communication between Washington and Moscow.
