Immigration officials have detained the wife and five children of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the man accused of carrying out a flamethrower attack at a pro-Israeli rally in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Soliman, 45, wounded 12 people using incendiary devices at the demonstration. The FBI has labeled the assault an act of terrorism. Witnesses said Soliman shouted “Free Palestine” and targeted Zionists during the attack.
Today, @DHSgov and @ICEGov are taking the family of suspected Boulder, Colorado terrorist, and illegal alien, Mohamed Soliman, into ICE custody.

This terrorist will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We are investigating to what extent his family knew about this… pic.twitter.com/fcjMiyWil7
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said federal agents are investigating whether Soliman’s family had prior knowledge of his actions. Soliman told police he acted alone, according to a state affidavit.
Originally from Egypt, Soliman entered the U.S. in 2022 on a tourist visa and later applied for asylum. The Trump administration has seized on the case to highlight what it calls the failures of President Biden’s immigration policies.
Trump blamed the attack on Biden’s “Open Border Policy.”
