Doctor’s Political Texas Flood Post Opens Pandora’s Box For Parents

A Texas pediatrician appears to have been fired for writing a vile social media post suggesting that flood victims were MAGA supporters who got “what they voted for.”

The post went viral after the X account Libs of TikTok shared it with her followers. Dr. Christina Propst allegedly posted it on Facebook under the name Chris Tina, according to Mediaite.

“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry,” Propst said, according to a screenshot. “Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”

Her employer, Blue Fish Pediatrics, announced Sunday that she was no longer employed at their practice.

Parents have been increasingly aware that left-wing ideology has permeated the medical system. Propst’s alleged post is a disgusting example of what we fear most.

When parents walk into the pediatrician’s office, they want to know that politics will not influence the medical care their children receive. However, it has become apparent in recent years that not all doctors can be trusted to do what is best for your child. Instead, they are going to follow the “guidance” often dispensed from organizations captured by left-wing activists.

We saw this rise during the Covid years. Instead of basing their procedures on the child’s risk or medical history, they went full force into promoting masking, social distancing and vaccine requirements. I remember taking my daughters to their pediatrician for their yearly check-up, expecting their typically even-keeled doctor to take a measured approach, only to find her almost refusing to see us without masks and vaccines. I had to fight to get them in, and when she finally came into the room, she was wearing two masks (one N95 mask and a regular cloth mask) and a face shield.

The visit got more worrisome from there. She wanted to pull my 11-year-old out of the room by herself to ask her questions. I was immediately taken aback. I had only just begun learning about the evils of transgender ideology, but something (probably my Guardian Angel) threw up alarm bells. I refused. Even my daughter felt uncomfortable with the ask. She told the doctor she wanted me to stay.

Her pediatrician looked annoyed but continued with her questions: “Have you ever felt like you didn’t want to be alive anymore?” “Are there times when you hurt yourself to feel in control of your emotions?” “Do you have any concerns that you weren’t born in the right body?”

My daughter started to get emotional. She was so confused about why her doctor would be asking these questions. I told her that was enough. We ended the visit and never went back.

At the time, I wondered if she had put two and two together when they asked me what my career was, and I responded commentary writer. I was much more careful about telling their new pediatrician what I do for a living for fear that they would treat my children differently because of it.

I felt betrayed. We should be able to trust our medical professionals to set aside politics and ideologies when caring for our loved ones. Never in a million years would I have thought this visit would go that way. She made me feel like I was a threat to my daughter’s ability to speak freely.

My top priority as a mother is to protect my daughters. When I was pregnant with my oldest, I assumed that meant thugs, murderers, child traffickers and drug dealers. But as I processed that appointment, I realized the list continues to grow and now includes medical professionals.

The left claims that they aren’t the party of violence or violent rhetoric. But how is someone supposed to view a pediatrician whose task is to care for all children, no matter their background or parents’ political opinion, as a safe option if she is allegedly writing such a post amid the tragic deaths of children?

If parents cannot trust doctors to leave their politics at the door when caring for vulnerable patients, then an increasing number of children will not receive vital check-ups, which are often necessary for catching issues early.

These doctors should be barred from the medical field. They don’t deserve the privilege of caring for our children.

We continue to pray for the victims and their families suffering after the flash flooding in Texas. It is a tragedy.
