New York City Mayor Eric Adams will endorse former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for mayor. Adams’ spokesperson, Todd Shapiro, confirmed that the mayor will also campaign alongside Cuomo, though details of their appearances are still being finalized.

The endorsement follows Cuomo’s final debate performance and a public appearance with Adams at a New York Knicks game this week, where the two were seen smiling courtside. Cuomo had publicly said he would welcome Adams’ support.
Adams, who dropped out of his reelection bid earlier this month after calling Cuomo “a snake and a liar,” has faced declining approval and mounting political pressure.

His backing could give Cuomo a modest boost against Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani and Republican Curtis Sliwa, though Mamdani’s campaign dismissed the endorsement as “an alliance of corruption and Trump capitulation.”
