F-16 fighter jets intercepted a civilian aircraft that entered restricted airspace over Cincinnati, Ohio, on Saturday as President Donald Trump addressed a rally nearby, according to CBS News.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said the interception occurred at approximately 3 p.m. CT. Military aircraft safely escorted the plane away from the restricted area.
NORAD warned that pilots who breach such restrictions could face questioning or further enforcement action after landing. Air Force officials also urged pilots to check current flight restrictions before departure. The FAA distributes these details through Notices to Airmen.
Similar incidents have occurred near other Trump appearances. In September, F-16s intercepted 15 aircraft near Chicago, while separate interceptions were reported near Geneva, Ohio, and Bedminster, New Jersey, in August. All aircraft were safely escorted away.
