Donald Trump lashed out at Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Thursday, accusing him of being slow to act on interest rates. In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump called Powell “always too late and wrong,” adding, “Powell’s termination cannot come fast enough.”

Despite Trump’s pressure, the Fed has held interest rates steady at 4.25% to 4.5% since early this year. Trump criticized the Fed for not cutting rates in line with the European Central Bank (ECB), which is expected to make its seventh rate cut. He claimed falling oil and grocery prices are proof the U.S. economy is strong and said, “The USA is getting rich on tariffs.”
